Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified Healthcare Play Specialist or Nursery Nurse to join the paediatric team at Bedford Hospital. The role involves planning and delivering therapeutic play programmes to support children emotionally and developmentally across the Paediatric Unit.

Responsibilities include implementing play interventions across Riverbank ward, Children’s Assessment Unit, Paediatric Outpatients and Phlebotomy, with occasional support in A&E.

Qualifications

• Qualified Healthcare Play Specialist or Nursery Nurse
• Experience of working in a hospital setting
• Willingness to work across paediatric areas including A&E

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, review and evaluate therapeutic play programmes for children and young people
• Support across the Paediatric Unit (Riverbank ward, Children’s Assessment Unit, Paediatric Outpatients and Phlebotomy)
• May occasionally support in A&E
