Job description

As a band 6 Physiotherapist working within our team you will be situated in the heart of a Children’s therapy centre working alongside a dynamic team of Children’s Physio’s, Occupational therapists, speech and language therapist, dieticians, orthoptists and Orthotists.


The role will involve the management of children and young people with musculoskeletal and neurodevelopmental conditions from birth to 19 years. You will be based at the Bury Living Well centre but will also work in other community locations such as schools and colleges.


Our team puts personal development and wellbeing as a top priority. We have close links with education and 3rd sector parties to ensure a holistic approach to our patients care.


The team upholds a supportive environment to nurture personal and team development to ensure person centred, high quality care. We have regular peer support and supervision sessions.

  1. The role will involve the physiotherapy management of children and young people referred with neurodevelopment and musculoskeletal conditions. The post holder will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning skills and be able to interpret and analyse the results of treatment in order to modify accordingly.
  2. This role is based at the Bury Living Well centre but will also involve home visits and school visits if appropriate. Ability to travel between sites is essential.
  3. The post holder will adhere to the clinical governance framework and be actively involved in quality improvement projects and improving user experience.
  4. There will be a supportive role helping to supervise students, assistants and education colleagues.
  5. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate excellent 2-way communication between carers, education and social services staff and other health care workers.
  6. This post holder will require knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  7. Knowledge of paediatric equipment would be desirable but the post holder could be supported to gain this knowledge whilst in the role.
  8. The role may involve provision of hydrotherapy sessions.
