Job summary

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the Integrated Children's Services team. You will work autonomously in community, clinic and school settings, managing a caseload of children with neuro, non-neuro and MSK conditions.

You will provide high quality physiotherapy in partnership with families and other professionals, and participate in data collection for service audit and for departmental research initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously as a Paediatric Physiotherapist within the community team in clinic, school and community.
• Evaluate outcomes of assessments and provide advice and disseminate information accordingly to parents and other professionals as appropriate.
• To work in collaboration with all agencies, private and public, involved in the child’s care in order to provide the highest level of care, achieving this through continued professional development and supervision, and contributing to team, profession specific, and Trust developments.
• To undertake the collection of data for use in service audit, with occasional analysis and production with dissemination of any associated report for departmental research initiatives and service monitoring / enhancement.
• To provide highly specialist assessment, intervention and management for clients with complex needs and provide suitable and timely support.
• Work as part of the integrated therapies team ensuring the delivery of joined up care plans.
• Provide specialist training for other professionals within the area of physical development, posture and mobility and difficulties.

• Independently managing a caseload of clients with neuro, non-neuro and MSK conditions
• Providing high quality physiotherapy in close conjunction with families and other professionals working with the same client group

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,870 to a maximum of £6,137 p.a. pro rata for part time).
