Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic Band 6 Children’s Occupational Therapist to join the Community Children’s OT Team in the west area of Argyll and Bute. The role covers Oban, Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay and involves assessment, treatment planning and delivery for children aged 0-18 with diverse needs.

You will work across homes, nurseries, schools and community settings to promote independence and participation in daily activities, with multidisciplinary colleagues and families.

Qualifications

• Paediatric practice experience is essential.
• Strong communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills are required.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality Occupational Therapy service including assessment, formulation and implementation of individualised intervention programmes.
• Support children and young people to develop independence and participation in activities of daily living, play and education.
• Work across homes, nurseries, schools and community settings to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary working across health, education and social care teams.
• Be flexible in response to service needs and travel across the locality.
