Job summary

KT Healthcare is seeking a Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The role is part-time (22.5 hours over 3 days) and based in the London Borough of Barnet. You will deliver child-centred OT services across homes, schools and community settings.

We welcome applicants with 3–5 years of paediatric OT experience and HCPC registration who can work independently yet collaboratively within a team to improve outcomes for children with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Experience in paediatric OT is desirable.
• Experience across home, school and community settings is preferred.
• Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and report writing skills.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver bespoke occupational therapy interventions for children.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop individualised therapy programmes.
• Provide practical recommendations to support participation in daily activities.
• Work across homes, schools and community settings.

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team, providing specialist therapeutic services to children and young people with complex needs across the London Borough of Barnet.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and highly skilled clinician who enjoys working in partnership with families, schools and other professionals to help children achieve their full potential through evidence-based, child-centred therapy.

About the Role

Working across homes, schools and community settings, you will assess, plan and deliver bespoke occupational therapy interventions for children and young people with a wide range of developmental, neurodevelopmental, physical and sensory needs.

You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop individualised therapy programmes and provide practical recommendations that support children to participate more fully in everyday activities.

We are looking for a therapist who has:

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Ideally 3–5 years' post-qualification experience within paediatric occupational therapy
• Experience working with children and young people across home, school and community settings
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and report writing skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• The ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team

We would particularly welcome applications from Occupational Therapists with experience supporting children with one or more of the following:

• Sensory Processing Differences (functional assessment of sensory needs)
• Neurodevelopmental conditions
• Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), delayed motor skills and difficulties with gross and fine motor development
• Global Developmental Delay and learning difficulties
• Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), language disorders and social communication difficulties
• Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Emotional wellbeing needs, including anxiety and depression
• Hypermobility, muscle weakness and other musculoskeletal conditions affecting movement and function.
• Neurological and physical disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and Scoliosis
• Visual and hearing impairments, adapting interventions to meet individual needs
• Feeding, eating and drinking difficulties/dysphagia
