Job summary

Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital is seeking a Bank Children and Young People Nurse (RN) to join on a part-time, ad hoc basis. The role covers paediatric care for children aged 3–16 during pre- and post-operative stays, with shifts arranged as needed.

You will be NMC-registered with post-registration experience, ideally in a surgical ward; PILS is desirable. Benefits include pension and gym discounts, with flexible bank hours to suit availability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ward team to deliver safe, effective care across paediatric and adult areas.
• Broaden skills across various cases and specialist areas within the CYP service.

As a Paediatric Nurse in our hospital, you’ll be alert, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic.You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. With post-registration experience, you’re a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care. A Paediatric Immediate Life Support certificate (PILS) or equivalent is desirable.

As a Paediatric Nurse, you will:

• Bring valuable post-registration experience, including work on the surgical ward, with a dual training approach that equips you for both paediatric and adult care environments.
• Ideally possess Intermediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Have a passion for delivering exceptional care to look after children between the ages of 3-16 years during their pre/post operative stay on the ward and whilst they attend clinics and procedures around the hospital.
• Play a vital role in supporting children through their hospital journey, acting as a trusted support for both patients and their parents or guardians.
• Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of our ward team
• Broaden your skills across a wide variety of cases
• Work within different specialist areas

Our CYP Service inpatient and day case surgery includes orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, General surgery. and Dental/ MaxFac We also have a busy diagnostic imaging service and Out Patient Department where we offer a CYP phlebotomy service and Preoperative assessment to all children who are going to be admitted for surgery.
