Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran invites applications for a Children's Nurse based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a permanent basis with a fixed-term option until July 2027.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess care needs, develop and evaluate care plans, and provide high-quality, person-centred care for paediatric patients. Two posts are available: 36 hours per week permanent and 23 hours per week fixed-term; both require NMC registration and commitment

Qualifications

• Registered Children’s Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Maintenance of NMC revalidation or equivalent.
• Active in paediatric knowledge and skills development.
• Experience in paediatric acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess care needs and develop programmes of care for paediatric patients.
• Implement and evaluate care plans to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
• Provide cover in the absence of ward manager or senior staff nurse to ensure safe operations.
