Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the NMC or Allied professional registration.
  • BSc (Hons) in Nursing or equivalent portfolio of evidence.
  • Desirable: Non-Medical Prescribing.
  • Experience in neurodisability is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a specialist caseload of children and young people with ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Independently prescribe and monitor ADHD medication in line with NICE guidance and local protocols.
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics and support consultant-led clinics.

Are you a Children's Nurse and Independent Non-Medical Prescriber with a passion for neurodevelopmental care?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Neurodevelopmental & Neurodisability Clinical Nurse Specialist/Practitioner to join our Community Paediatric team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work autonomously within a specialist multidisciplinary service, providing assessment, treatment, medication management and ongoing support for children and young people with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental conditions and complex neurodisability. The successful candidate will manage a specialist caseload, undertake nurse-led clinics, contribute to neurodevelopmental assessment pathways and provide expert advice and support to children, young people, families and professionals.

Main duties of the job

  • Education & Training: Contribute to the specialist education and training of healthcare professionals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in clinical supervision, self-reflection, audits, and quality initiatives to enhance care for children and their families.
