Job summary

Royal Brompton Hospital in London is seeking a paediatric respiratory physiology assistant for a one-year fixed-term post, performing lung function tests (spirometry, FeNO, impedance, CPET) and writing reports.

You will work across clinics, theatres and the ward, with cross-site activity at Evelina Children's Hospital, collaborating with sleep physiologists and a multidisciplinary team; a BSc or equivalent is required, with experience with children and knowledge of respiratory physiology.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of respiratory physiology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under pressure with patients who have complex medical conditions.
• Strong teamwork within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory physiology tests, including spirometry, FeNO, impedance studies and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
• Analyse test data and produce reports.
• Explain tests to children in an age-appropriate way so they can participate.
• Work with children, families and the multidisciplinary team to obtain accurate results and best outcomes.
• Work in clinics, theatres and on the ward.
• Work across sites, with cross-site work at Evelina Children's Hospital.
