My job makes better lives by leading and managing care of Children and Young People (CYP) who present in the Emergency Department (ED) at the District General Hospital (DGH) and by working in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team consisting of representatives from the ED, police, ambulance, and mental health service alongside CYP and their families/carers collaboratively making a difference to their lives.
As part of a partnership within the Paediatric ED at the DGH it is vital to ensure the service operates in a safe, effective and efficient way as part of a whole system. Foster a culture that encourages and enables individuals to have an active role in identifying, planning and meeting their individual needs. Support strategic leadership in relation to service improvement and quality evaluation
The Paediatric Liaison Service is vital to ensuring the needs of CYP presenting at ED with mental health and emotional issues are, in a timely manner, assessed and an appropriate response to their needs is put in placeas part of the partnership between you and the ED Paediatric colleagues.
