A healthcare provider in Walsall is looking for a Paediatric Governance and Quality Manager who will oversee governance and risk management in paediatric services. We are excited to advertise for a Paediatric Governance and Quality Manager. We seek an experienced nurse with a strong interest in governance and quality to progress the patient safety agenda.
The post holder will be the principal link between the Paediatric and Neonatal Care Group team and the Divisional Governance team within the Trust. They will help ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to departmental, Care Group, Divisional, and Trust-wide quality assessments.
The post holder will manage, promote, facilitate, and coordinate governance and risk management activities (clinical and non-clinical) across paediatric inpatient, outpatient, and community services.
They will develop a positive culture towards proactive patient safety throughout the organization. They will work closely with Lead Paediatricians, Matron, Senior Sisters, the Care Group team, Divisional Director of Nursing, members of the divisional governance team, and the trust-wide governance department.
The post holder will be a key member of a core group responsible for liaising with external assessors and will provide leadership, advice, guidance, and support on governance and risk management issues affecting the organization, staff, and service users related to paediatric concerns.
They will also work closely with the Governance Manager for Neonates and support the neonatal unit in their absence.
Joining the Paediatric team at Walsall is an exciting opportunity, especially with the service's expansion and progression. The PAU is housed in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built unit, leading innovations in virtual wards and digital health.
The Paediatric department includes a 21-inpatient ward, a 12-bed PAU, an elective day care unit, a virtual ward, a children’s community nursing team, and an outpatient department.

The role is part of the Senior Nursing team within paediatrics and neonates, including participation in the on-call rota.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700. The trust offers inpatient and outpatient services at Manor Hospital and various community services. The new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in early 2023, includes a Children's Emergency Department and Paediatric Assessment Unit.
