A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children’s Epilepsy Service. This post will support children with Epilepsy and their families who are cared for by our community paediatricians, as well as working alongside the established team of Childrens Epilepsy nurses.

This band 6 post offers an opportunity to work with the Childrens Epilepsy Nurse team to provide care for children with epilepsy, aged 0-16

We are seeking a caring, dynamic, reliable and committed nurse with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to join the Children's Epilepsy Nurse Team. A desire to give the best care for children with epilepsy is essential for this post

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have an induction period, of a minimum of 4 weeks, individualised to meet their development needs. They will have numerous, ongoing opportunities to develop expertise in children’s epilepsy, multidisciplinary team working and teaching, enabling them to provide expert advice, care and education to children with epilepsy and those involved in caring for them.

You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we forge stronger links with community services and continue to develop the children’s epilepsy care pathway and transition service. You will work closely with our team of friendly paediatric neurologists and paediatricians to ensure that children receive a seamless, quality service.

Knowledge & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching/mentoring staff
  • Experience of working with children with epilepsy/learning difficulties/complex needs
  • Significant substantial post registration experience at Band 5/6 in paediatrics
  • Experience of dealing with child protection cases
  • Experience of working in a community healthcare setting
