Vacancy for a Band 6, 12 month Secondment, 37 hours post. Monday- Friday to suit the needs of the service.

An exciting 12 month Secondment opportunity is available for a positive, caring, enthusiastic individual to join the Paediatric Endocrine Team at the Royal Hospital for Children.

The new endocrine nurse will be supported to learn about and manage patients within the endocrine service. Working autonomously and independently within the context of a multidisciplinary team to provide highly specialist knowledge and expertise ensuring seamless family centred, evidence based care for patients with an endocrine condition. The Post is based in the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow covering endocrine patients in the GGCHB area. The Endocrine team cares for children across the endocrine spectrum, including; Rare bone disease, Late effects of childhood cancer, Gender Dysphoria, Craniopharyngioma, Congenital hypothyroidism, Disorders of sexual development, Growth hormone deficiency and Adrenal insufficiency.

The nurse will assist in the planning development and delivery of uniformed endocrine care to patients within the primary, secondary and tertiary care settings. Support for families through diagnosis and treatments in their social, emotional and health needs, referring to the appropriate professionals and services where necessary as well as supporting clinical and educational links within primary, secondary and tertiary care settings to support patients with endocrine conditions.
