Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Paediatric Emergency Department at Wexham Park Hospital. The role is a part-time position of 23 hours per week and is open to newly qualified nurses who are graduating now.

You will care for children with minor injuries and illness, paediatric traumas, and the critically unwell child in resus. The department offers in-house training, safeguarding courses, and opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for an identified area of clinical practice within the Children's Emergency Department.
• Assess, formulate and evaluate practice-based programmes for children and young people with families, and supervise junior staff.
• Maintain a learning environment enabling learner nurses to achieve objectives.
• Act as a role model to junior staff in the Children's Emergency Department.
• Act as a resource for child protection issues.
• Participate in the induction of new staff.
• Maintain own continuous professional development.
• Any other duties to facilitate the smooth running of the department.
