Job description

Are you an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and compassionate dietitian with a genuine interest in working with children and young people and their families? This is an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian with paediatric experience to join our friendly team for a 9-month fixed-term maternity cover (funding is being sought to extend this to 12 months).

The post holder will work alongside the lead dietitian for paediatrics and other band 6 dietitians as part of the countywide Nutrition and Dietetics team.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of outpatient paediatric patients with various conditions, including paediatric home enteral feeding. You will work independently but also as part of a multidisciplinary team.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car for business purposes are essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary, subject to minimum and maximum payments per annum, pro-rata where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work as part of the paediatric dietetic team to deliver high-quality, locality-based nutrition and dietetic services.
  2. Provide specialist dietetic advice, education, and support to patients and their carers.
  3. Offer guidance and support to other healthcare professionals.
  4. Deliver outpatient clinics in community-based locations.
  5. Plan, deliver, monitor, and evaluate group-based education in the community.
  6. Manage a caseload of paediatric patients on home enteral feeding.
  7. Deliver dietetic clinics at special schools for home enteral feeding patients.
  8. Triages and prioritizes patient referrals to ensure timely dietetic input.
  9. Deliver virtual group education sessions.
