Job description

A Vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


We are looking to recruit a Band 8a Audiologist to join our UKAS accredited Paediatric Audiology Team as a Paediatric Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Team Leader.

The post holder will be based at York and must be able to travel to other sites for example Harrogate, Thirsk, Whitby and Scarborough.

This role is pivotal in delivering expert clinical services in diagnostic and rehabilitation of children with hearing loss. As a leader you will provide clinical supervision and training to staff and trainees, fostering professional development and excellence within the team.

Additionally, you will bring together the clinical leads in each paediatric field, ensuring high quality care and innovative service delivery.

As a Team Leader in Audiology, you will use well developed clinical skills, advanced theoretical knowledge, and extensive practical experience. You will undertake assessments and rehabilitation of paediatric patients with hearing loss.

The post holder will be able to deliver safe and effective audiology services both within their scope of practice and, more broadly considering their professions’ legal and ethical boundaries. You will work as an autonomous practitioner undertaking a specialist clinical workload, using advanced clinical reasoning and delivering a broad range of treatments, education and advice.
