This is an exciting opportunity to join a part of our Paediatric team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust to cover maternity leave for 12 months. The Paediatric Diabetes team works with acute inpatients, within our outpatient clinics as well as undertaking work with schools and families in the community to support children and young people both newly diagnosed and for those requiring review and support to manage Diabetes as a condition.

The Paediatric Diabetes Team are looking for a band 6 Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join the team along with our Paediatric Diabetes Lead consultant and Band 7 PDSN. You will be expected to work alongside other members of the team including the medical team and Paediatric Nursing staff, and adult Diabetes team to support children, young people and their families with their diabetes management.

The post holder will work within the children’s diabetes team based in Secondary Care. The Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse will act as a clinical expert and professional resource to the multi-professional team, families and carers. The post holder will provide specialist advice with their clinical area, both in the hospital and community. The post holder will participate in the development of teaching packages/training programmes for nurses and other health care professionals.
