Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Emergency Team and become part of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As our new Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse, you will continue to develop your skills and leadership confidence under the guidance of an inspiring team.

Hinchingbrooke Hospital has an emergency department and children's inpatient and outpatient services. The city is accessible by road or rail, located within easy commute distance from London, Cambridge, Leicester or Birmingham. Our ED acts as a single point of access for all emergencies, offering treatment to more than 100,000 patients per year. We serve a diverse population that is reflected in our workforce.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the delivery of high-quality paediatric emergency care in collaboration with the ED/Paediatric team, Clinical teams, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Rotating between the Urgent Treatment Centre and the Emergency Department to manage daily duties and responsibilities.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support as a role model to junior staff and contribute to the development of the team and services to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Support a multidisciplinary team in different areas of the Emergency Care setting as required.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment and effective teamwork through strong communication and collaboration.
Team, Environment and Expectations

Teamwork and communication skills are essential. A multidisciplinary team—comprising paediatric registered nurses, paediatric resuscitation specialists, nurse practitioners and advanced clinical practitioners—will guide and support you.

We are committed to supporting colleagues through organisational change. Priority will be given to staff at risk within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board.
