Coyle Homecare is seeking a dedicated Complex Carer to support a 10-year-old girl in a school setting in Northampton. You will provide specialised care throughout the school day, including tracheostomy care, medication administration, and health monitoring, working closely with school staff and healthcare professionals.

The role emphasizes compassionate, child-focused care, effective communication, and safeguarding, with training provided and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Tracheostomy training and practical experience are essential.
• Previous complex care experience with children or young people is required.
• Paediatric or school-based care experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, personalised complex care and support throughout the school day.
• Provide safe and competent tracheostomy care.
• Monitor the child’s health and respond to changes in her condition.
• Administer medication and first aid per care plans and policies.
• Respond calmly to medical emergencies.
• Support the child to access classroom activities and participate in school life.
• Provide emotional reassurance and encouragement.
• Promote independence and age-appropriate activities.
• Work with teachers, school staff, parents/carers, and healthcare professionals.
• Follow healthcare plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and care protocols.
• Maintain accurate, confidential care and medical records.
• Communicate effectively with everyone involved in the child’s care.
