Overview

An exciting fixed term opportunity following an internal promotion has arisen for a dynamic Band 6 Children’s Clinical Research Nurse to join the Wolf CRF team. The role leads the delivery of high quality research and clinical care for participants across neurology, renal and infectious disease areas in a portfolio of non-commercial and commercially funded studies. The postholder will be dedicated to studies undertaken on the Wolf CRF and will lead and care for children and young people enrolled in early and later phase research trials.

Responsibilities
  • Lead liaison with Principal Investigators, other members of the multidisciplinary team, and sponsors to develop robust systems and processes that ensure high standards of clinical care and research governance.
  • Provide holistic nursing care for children and young people and their families on existing and new clinical trials and contribute to assessment and management of care pathways.
  • Lead on study setup activities, screening, recruitment, education, monitoring of participants, and the collation and documentation of study data.
  • Take informed consent for selected studies which do not involve a medicinal product (training provided).

  • Sound clinical skills with experience in managing complex needs patients and recognising clinical deterioration in children.
  • Previous research experience is advantageous; comprehensive research training will be provided as part of the induction programme.
Additional Information

  • The normal working hours are Monday - Friday 9am–5pm, with flexibility to accommodate patient visits and assessments outside these hours.
