We are looking for pro-active and self-motivated Paediatric Nurses who are passionate about delivering high quality patient care.
Working in a Children’s Emergency Care setting can be a challenging but rewarding clinical environment.

You must have excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills and be able to motivate and inspire the staff so that collective strengths can achieve desired outcomes.
We are a supportive and encouraging department and you will be part of a solid team of paediatric nurses with different levels of experience.
This will provide you with the support to make each day a good one. We have a strong team of band 7 nurses working directly within the department as well as a dedicated practice development team which work wholly on enabling you to develop your skills and experiences and facilitate further learning and training.
We receive a wide variety of emergency patients, including trauma and medical/surgical admissions and it is exciting to say that our Children’s Emergency Department provides an independent Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner service
We have a co located PAU department that is managed by the emergency nurses. and a team of Paediatricians

• Initiate, evaluate and maintain a high standard of care, ensuring that it is evidence bases and compliant with best practice recommendations for children’s hospital services.
• Ensure that care is family centered, sensitive and responsive to the needs of the children and their families
• Participate in providing the means for children and their families to comment on the standard of care delivered, and ensure a qualitative response from the Childrens ED team to aspects of care identified as in need of improvement.
• To be aware of new polices and guidelines in place and ensure they are adhered to.
• Actively contribute to research and audit within the department to improve patient care.
• To be an effective role model in provision of high standards of care
• Demonstrate independence in clinical decision making, acting a source of advice to junior
• to be flexable and work across the ED and PAU department
• to take charge of the shift to ensure smoth and safe department
