Job description

We are looking to welcome individuals who are committed to delivering high-quality care with a positive and caring attitude, have excellent communication skills, and are committed to the HUTH NHS Trust Vision and Values by joining our Paediatric Bank Team. Bank shifts will be available in paediatric areas such as:

Woodland Ward

A busy 20-bedded medical ward caring for acutely unwell babies, children, and young people, including those on high flow therapy.

  • Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
  • Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient.
  • Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Undertake duties on different wards/departments as required by service demands.
PAU

A fast-paced assessment unit open 24/7 accepting referrals from primary and secondary care settings.

Acorn Ward

An 18-bedded surgical ward caring for children under various surgical specialties such as orthopaedics, plastics, ENT, max fax, and general surgery. You will be welcomed by our substantive team and offered supernumerary shifts to orient you to the wards before being counted in the nurse staffing numbers. Shifts will be available periodically and on a last-minute basis.
