Paediatric Audiologist (new graduates considered - training provided)

Join to apply for the Paediatric Audiologist (new graduates considered - training provided) role at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust

Job Summary: An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated, and competent Paediatric Audiologist to join the Paediatric Audiology service at Hertfordshire Community Trust on a permanent basis. For candidates without paediatric audiology experience, we can accept applicants at a band 5 as a development role, with training provided in-house and progression to band 6 after competency is achieved (6 months+). We welcome applications from those interested in developing their career in paediatrics.

The service provides second and third tier services to children and young people within West Hertfordshire, with clinics across three sites. A full valid driving license and access to a car are essential unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job:
  • Lead children's hearing assessment clinics (6 months+)
  • Provide hearing aid management for children of all ages
  • Communicate effectively with service users and team members
  • Engage in peer reviews and audits to improve service quality
  • Assist the Audiology Service Lead with departmental management
  • Take operational responsibilities within the department (with guidance)

Job Responsibilities:

Person Specification:

Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of child development, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, empathy, organizational skills, and clinical data interpretation. Desirable skills include management experience and leadership.

Personal Qualities: Professional appearance, good manners, adaptability, teamwork, punctuality, and knowledge sharing abilities.

Other Requirements: Commitment to NHS values, UK residency, full UK driving license, proficiency with MS Office, and numeracy skills.

Qualifications and Training: Expertise in paediatric audiology, BSc in Audiology or equivalent, HCPC registration, relevant postgraduate training, and a CPD portfolio.

Experience and Knowledge: Post-qualification experience in audiology assessments, hearing aid fitting, service development, and training experience.
