Job summary

Evolve Staffing Ltd is seeking Band 5 Recovery Nurses (PACU) to support acute perioperative departments across NHS Hospital Trusts in Bristol. You will deliver high-dependency, one-to-one care immediately after surgery, manage airway and respiratory care, and anticipate complications to safeguard outcomes.

Role offers flexible shifts, competitive pay, and ongoing compliance support with NHS Bristol trusts. Registrations, ventilatory support, and rapid decision-making are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active NMC RN (Adult) registration or HCPC ODP registration.
• 6–12 months NHS Operating Theatre Recovery Ward or PACU experience.
• ILS/ALS certification is advantageous.
• Proficiency in airway care, invasive monitoring and rapid response.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-dependency, one-to-one nursing care in PACU post anaesthesia.
• Monitor airway, breathing and circulation; manage post-op vitals.
• Administer analgesia, PCA/epidural infusions, and antiemetics as needed.
• Utilise SBAR for handover and complete accurate nursing records.
• Support patient safety through SBAR, Aldrete/PADSS scoring and discharge readiness.
