Job description

Job Title: Packing Operator

We are seeking a Packing Operator to join our team at our Wellingborough facility for the night shift (Sunday night to Friday morning, from 10.00pm to 6:00am).

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to assemble and pack products to meet planned volumes and targets, adhering to safety and quality standards. The role involves ensuring manufacturing performance targets are met by following operating procedures and participating in continuous improvement activities to enhance HSE, quality, cost, delivery, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble packaging components and pack finished goods, replenishing components on filling and packing lines.
  • Operate packaging equipment after training and demonstrate competence. Support the team to deliver consistent results.
  • Record and monitor packing data, including output and plan adherence.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and participate in daily briefings, safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow systems and procedures safely, reporting issues promptly.
  • Understand business operations and the role of supply chain and packing within the business strategy.
Key Requirements
  • Competence in numeracy to interpret data, work orders, safety documentation, and filling records.
  • Physical dexterity, ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely.
  • Experience in the chemical filling and packing industry.
