Job summary

Pilgrim's Pride Limited is recruiting for an operative role within our bulk pork packing operations. You will rotate across box room, freezer lines and carousel and receive training while adhering to strict health, safety and hygiene standards.

You will work as part of a team, meet production deadlines, and contribute to continuous improvement. Prior experience in food production is desirable but training is provided, with many opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food production environment is desirable, though training is provided.
• Be flexible and use a range of skills to meet quality, product and safety requirements.
• Able to work as part of a team and take responsibility for own work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production deadlines are met to the best of the operative's abilities.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Report faults to management and contribute to equipment reliability.

Job description

Reporting to the Bulk Pork Packing Supervisor, successful applicants will be trained to rotate across a number of areas including, the box room, freezer lines and carousel. You will also be responsible for complying with health, safety and hygiene regulations at all times.

• Ensure work is carried out to the best of the Operative's abilities to meet production deadlines
• Seek training to maintain skills and remain up to date with best practice
• Work as part of a team and take responsibility for own work
• Comply with Company policy and procedures on safe food handling and hygiene at all times
• Maintain responsibility for operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report faults to Management in a timely manner
• Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned necessary to meet business needs
• Operators will need to be flexible and use a variety of skills, understanding quality, product and safety requirements and be able to handle non routine situations which may arise
• Willingness to learn in semi-skilled roles
• Good communication
• Ability to work on own initiative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
• Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable, although training is provided
