Job description

Kepak McIntosh Donald is a globally recognised brand and the largest red meat producer in Scotland. We raise cattle on open pastures, sourcing from local farmers and ensuring quality through our master butchers. Our products include beef and lamb, produced with integrity and quality assurance.

We are seeking a Packing Operative to join our team.

Working Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, starting at 6am (flexibility required for finish time)

Job Purpose: To pack red meat for sale and consumption, adhering to client specifications and company SOPs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify vacuum-packed meat cuts and place them into specified containers or boxes.
  • Recognize different meat cuts that require weighing and labeling according to legal standards.
  • Place trays/boxes on correct pallets as per customer specifications.
  • Place selected meat cuts into customer-specified bags at variable line speeds.
  • Select beef quarters by date and category, pushing them along rails to the input scale.
  • Straighten pre-packed bags on the production line.
  • Complete tasks promptly to meet daily targets.
  • Perform pre-start, hygiene, and safety checks as instructed.
