Job summary

Travail Employment Group is recruiting a Packing Manager in Melton Mowbray for a permanent, 40-hour week from Monday to Friday (06:15–15:00). You will manage a team across production/packing, lead shift activities and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

You should have prior manufacturing management experience, strong people skills, and an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate with solid IT skills (Excel/Word) to produce daily production reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing settings with emphasis on quality and compliance.
• Previous management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate within the last 12 months.
• Proficient IT skills including Excel and Word for daily production reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing across production and packing areas and plan activities.
• Lead start-up safety checks and ensure PPE usage.
• Ensure effective department operation and inter-department communication.
• Maintain product quality in line with standards.
• Prepare department, equipment and staff for each shift and changeovers.
• Ensure accurate data entry and timely reporting.

Our well-established award-winning client is seeking a Packing manager to join and manage a team. You will be responsible for shift management, ensuring team leaders, colleagues and activities within the department are managed effectively and efficiently.

Duties include

• Ensure the control and plan of employees across all production/packing areas.
• Ensure the daily start-up Safety checks are maintained and staff have correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Responsible for the effective running of the department, ensuring communication between functions and department areas is effective.
• Ensure Product quality is maintained in accordance with quality standards.
• Ensure the Team Leaders prepare the department, equipment, and staff, to be ready and available for the start of each shift and all associated change overs.
• Responsible for ensuring all data information is accurate and completed on time.

To be considered for the Packing Manager role candidates must have

• Food manufacturing and quality and compliance knowledge essential.
• Previous management experience within a manufacturing industry.
• Excellent people management and communication skills
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (within the last 12 months)
