Packing & Machine Operative
Location: York (YO41) – Must be able to drive due to location
Pay Rate: £12.30 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Breaks: 2 x 15-minute paid breaks and 1 x 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Contract Type: 13-week temporary contract with a view to permanent following successful commencement

About the Role:
The Recruitment Group is hiring on behalf of our client for a Packing & Machine Operative based in the York (YO41) area. This is a great opportunity to join a small, friendly packing team producing high-quality food products.

Main Duties:

Operate packing machinery safely and efficiently

Follow company procedures and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)

Maintain high standards of personal and environmental hygiene

Accurately complete basic computer records and paperwork

Work to production deadlines with excellent attention to detail

Support cleaning and housekeeping standards within the workspace

Candidate Requirements:

Basic knowledge of food hygiene, food safety, and allergens (training provided)

Experience in food factories, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, or production preferred

Confident communicator with a motivated, proactive attitude

Strong ability to follow procedures and work independently

Excellent attention to detail and personal hygiene

Basic computer literacy

Must be able to drive due to rural location
