Great opportunity to work as Packing Line Leader for our client, at their cheese production warehouse, near Chard, Somerset.

The rate of pay is £ per hour.

This is a strictly full-time position only, offering fixed shifts based on weekly rotation (Monday - Friday). The hours of work are:

  • 06:00-14:00
  • 06:30-14:30
  • 07:00-15:00

Note: In December, for 3 weeks, shifts will be either 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00.

*Candidates must have their own transport, due to the working hours and the site location*

Your Role as a Packing Line Leader

Your responsibilities will include:

Health and Safety :
  • Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety for yourself and others, following company policies and instructions.
  • Check work areas, equipment, and machinery to ensure safety and report any non-conformances.
  • Maintain department cleaning and hygiene standards through effective cleaning schedules, including safe chemical use and storage.
  • Follow all health and safety policies, food safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
Technical and Quality :
  • Commit to Environment, Health, Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene.
  • Ensure tasks comply with Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (FSQMS).
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork to the appropriate manager.
  • Maintain accurate records to meet customer and company standards.
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs).
  • Assist with audits and visits preparation.
  • Assess cheese batches for quality, safety, and customer specifications.
  • Maintain product traceability using the EFACS system.
Operations :
  • Commit to continuous improvement and personal development.
  • Undertake routine packing tasks as part of a team, following work instructions and policies to maximize shift efficiency.
  • Proactively improve quality, safety, hygiene, and output.
  • Ensure machinery is ready and in good condition for each shift.
  • Promote effective communication within the department and with other teams.
Our Ideal Candidate

Our perfect Packing Line Leader will have:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic IT skills, including MS Excel and Outlook
  • Manual Handling experience
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Food Safety knowledge

Experience in a similar role is required.
