Job Description:

Location: HARIBO Pontefract

Working hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Position type: Permanent

We are seeking a Packing Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Pontefract site.

You will report to a Shift Supervisor and work as part of the wider Engineering team. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations through the mechanical installation and maintenance of machinery and services in the Production department.

Working hours:

This role follows an alternating shift pattern (40 hours/week):

Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00

Week 2: 14:00 – 22:00

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing machines for optimal efficiency
  • Attending to machine breakdowns and performing maintenance, including preventative maintenance
  • Bench fitting and installing new machinery
  • Following safety procedures, permit to work, and hygiene standards
  • Maintaining machinery in line with food industry standards
  • Executing project and commissioning work

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Completed Mechanical Apprenticeship
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
  • Teamwork and independent working skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in IT packages like Word and Excel
