Job description

Role Purpose

A hands-on role, with responsibility for maximising the packhouse service provision through strategic customer relationships and the efficient and effective management of the packhouse operations. Maintaining overall control of the Packhouse Operations through effective performance monitoring methodologies working together with the Senior Leadership Team to drive growth for the company, whilst ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities And Duties

Ensuring effective management of the Packhouse operations through the creation of standard operating procedures and effective use of Lean methodologies.

Monitoring day to day performance of the packhouse through the use of relevant key performance indicators. Driving continuous improvement on performance through effective interventions as required.

Overseeing the management of all packhouse departments and team members, ensuring effective operational management processes are in place and adhered to.

Demonstrating full budgetary responsibility for this key area of the business, managing packhouse resources to minimise costs and maximise value of sales.

Responsible for the daily offering of fruit and picking/harvest plans to customers.

Ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training processes are in place, working through the packhouse management structure to develop and maintain high standards of performance.

Overall responsibility for the Health and Safety of the packhouse operations, maintaining required high standards through training and corrective intervention as required.

Crop production and sales strategy together with Farms Manager.

Liaising with Fruit Production Manager to ensure the necessary processes and controls are in place for the packing of fruit at Ewell farm, minimising waste where possible.

Overall control of positive release.

Liaising and communicating with all customers throughout UK and import seasons.

Type of employment: Full time

Shift Pattern and working hours: Monday- Friday, with weekends as required and to cover shifts for assistant managers when required.
