Salary: GBP40000 - GBP50000 per annum

Packhouse Manager – The Job Role Details:

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of packhouse operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and team leadership.

Packhouse Manager – Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of packhouse management, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Manage and lead a team of staff, ensuring effective training, motivation, and performance.
  • Maintain high-quality standards, ensuring all salad leaves, herbs, and tomatoes are packed to specification.
  • Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, BRC).
  • Manage stock levels, packaging materials, and waste to optimise efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Analyse performance data and implement improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Work closely with supply chain, technical, and production teams to coordinate operations.

Packhouse Manager – Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:

You will have/be:

  • Proven experience in packhouse, production, or operations management, ideally in fresh produce or food manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing teams.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and compliance standards (HACCP, BRC).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT literate with experience in production and stock management systems.
