Job summary

Morepeople 01780 is seeking a dedicated Packhouse Manager to own the seasonal packing operation and lead a busy packhouse team.

The role focuses on people management, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety are met, with peak activity April–September and a quieter winter for improvement planning. The successful candidate will coordinate with the site team and help develop seasonal staff.

Qualifications

• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• Experience in fresh produce, food manufacturing, packing, or similar operations.
• Experience with seasonal labour management.
• Organised, hands-on and able to make fast decisions.

Responsibilities

• Taking full ownership of the day-to-day packhouse operation.
• Leading and developing a large seasonal workforce, including returnee employees.
• Planning resources and ensuring the right people are in the right place during peak periods.
• Maintaining strong standards across production, quality, food safety, hygiene and health & safety.
• Working closely with the Quality team to meet customer and audit requirements.
• Monitoring performance and addressing issues quickly and effectively.
• Supporting the development and retention of skills within the seasonal workforce.
• Co-ordinating with other areas of the site to ensure the wider operation runs smoothly.
• Supporting the glasshouse operation during the quieter winter months.
