Job summary

PQ Silicas UK Limited is seeking a Process Packager to safely operate across multiple plant areas, rotating on a variable shift pattern. You will prepare packaging lines, ensure materials are ready, and support KPI delivery within GMP guidelines.

You will work with the Microniser Operator, follow batch documentation, and uphold safety and quality standards across the site. Friendly team environment and training provided for competent tasks.

Qualifications

• Relevant Industrial experience is mandatory.
• Manual Handling skills (formal training) preferable.
• Experience of 24 hour continuous shift working is preferable.
• Units and elements of CIA Process Plant Operations or NVQ level 1 desirable.
• Current FLT powered hand truck license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the packing system in line with standard instructions, ensuring materials and packaging are available for planned production.
• Work under guidance to meet KPI targets and maintain GMP standards.
• Adhere to packing guidelines for sampling, labeling, weight control, and additives.
• Participate in safety, environmental, and company standards audits and housekeeping.
• Complete batch documentation accurately and communicate effectively with team.
• Clean down of process equipment and packing areas maintaining GMP.

Job Purpose

To safely carry out the duties of a packer across multiple areas of the plant. Working on a variable shift pattern as part of a team.

Key Accountabilities

• Preparation and set-up of the packing system in line with standard instructions. Ensuring all packaging, equipment, labelling and raw materials are available for the specific planned product and tonnage.
• Working closely under the guidance of the Microniser Operator to meet set KPI’s
• Adherence to packing guidelines for sampling, pack presentation, labelling, weight control, addition of additives, reworking and adhering to good manufacturing practice.
• Active involvement complying with safety, environmental and Company standards, including auditing, reporting, team improvement activities and housekeeping in multiple areas.
• Communicate both verbally and in written format, in a timely fashion. Including completion of batch documentation, handover , assisting others to improve knowledge and understanding
• Cleandown of process equipment and packing areas, maintaining GMP standards.

Special Features

Process Packers will carry out any task they have been deemed competent to do, provided that such activity can be completed safely.
