Job summary

Valeo Foods UK is seeking a Packaging Technologist to join the Leeds team, supporting Matthew Walker and Rowse Honey brands. You will manage packaging development from concept to launch and ensure packaging solutions deliver value while meeting customer, technical, legislative and sustainability requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven packaging development experience in FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, printing technologies and processes.
• Understanding of packaging legislation and environmental considerations.
• Experience working with major UK retailers and understanding customer needs.
• Excellent project management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Great attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.
• Commercial awareness and proactive problem-solving approach.
• Good IT skills and experience with specification systems / portals.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Valeo sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage packaging development projects from concept to implementation.
• Define timelines with internal stakeholders and deliver packaging elements.
• Provide technical packaging support to business and customers.
• Support R&D with packaging trials to ensure fit for purpose.
• Manage artwork development and approval processes for brands.
• Maintain packaging specifications and documentation for audits.
• Develop innovative and sustainable packaging solutions.
• Assist in commissioning of new packaging equipment and processes.
• Identify value optimisation and cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor packaging legislation changes and ensure compliance.
• Input and maintain data in customer systems and portals.
