About the Role

The Packaging Technologist will manage and execute packaging activities supporting projects such as NPD/EPD, GM, productivity, Capex, and the implementation of new technology to ensure compliance. They will provide technical expertise in packaging manufacturing and supply chain issues, support operations, quality, and engineering in resolving packaging-related issues, and ensure all equipment and processes are validated. The role includes managing projects, technical execution, cost and time management, and coaching technicians to achieve KPIs and develop capabilities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support resolution of packaging issues affecting current operations, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Assist in troubleshooting packaging-related design, specifications, and supplier changes.
  • Ensure validation of all packaging equipment and processes, supporting the validation department.
  • Manage production trials, including scheduling, documentation, approvals, sampling/testing, and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate packaging projects across functions to deliver on time, in full, and within budget.
  • Coach and develop packaging technicians to meet KPIs, fostering team capability and performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for packaging processes and procedures.
Required Experience
  • Experience liaising with multiple departments to align project plans and acceptance criteria.
  • Validation experience with new packaging processes, components, and procedures, using risk assessment tools like FMEA.
  • Operational knowledge of packaging challenges and practices, understanding internal customer needs.
  • At least 2 years of experience in packaging technology, graphics, print, repro, or manufacturing (operations, engineering, quality, technical).
  • Experience within FMCG, preferably pharmaceuticals.
  • Project management experience in planning, executing, and documenting trials or projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
