Overview

Job Title: Packaging Technician
Location: Newport (NP19)
£14.59 per hour increasing to £17.17 after 12 weeks.
FLT Counterbalance Licence is desirable

Our client is a global leader in the field of chemistry, providing material solutions that are utilised across a wide range of major industries. They are now recruiting additional Packaging Technicians to join their 24/7 operation.

Shifts
  • 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
  • 7am to 7pm, 7pm to 7am
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate packaging lines and equipment to deliver high-quality products.
  • Ensure correct labelling, packaging type, and grade compliance.
  • Maintain plant and machinery condition using 5S principles.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions to complete tasks accurately.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Operate a forklift truck (training provided).
  • Conduct detailed shift handovers and maintain an electronic logbook.
  • Collaborate with the shift team to meet objectives.
  • Perform basic fault-finding on breakdowns.
  • Inspect packaged goods for defects before dispatch.
  • Monitor and maintain packaging material inventory levels.
Skills and Experience
  • FLT Counterbalance licence is desirable
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills (Face-to-face/Radio/Written/IT)
  • Eager to learn and apply new skills
