Qualifications

PACKAGING OPERATOR - Weekend Nights

Monday & Tuesday 9:30pm - 6:00am; and Saturday & Sunday 5:30pm - 5:30am

Starting Pay Rate: $24.72/hr

General Summary:

This position involves working in various functions within the VMS manufacturing area, including stacking, sorting, distributing bulk product and material, hand palletizing, sorting product, Moen operation, and raw material management (bottles, caps, corrugate).

Essential Functions:
  1. Promote a safety culture and awareness within the area at all times.
  2. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures.
  3. Assist with inspection, sorting, and bagging processes for bulk products.
  4. Remove defective items (e.g., deformed, discolored, misshapen).
  5. Manage bulk products from the clean room to the packaging area, including sorting, stacking, and cleaning trays.
  6. Perform visual sorting and declumping of bulk products prior to packaging.
  7. Supply hoppers with bottles, caps, and other raw materials as needed.
  8. Supply bottle conveyor for metal detection, capping, and induction sealing.
  9. Identify, retrieve, and inspect pallets; apply case labels as needed.
  10. Operate Moen machinery, including erecting cases, trays, and displays.
  11. Break down excess corrugate for bailing and communicate product or equipment issues to relevant staff.
  12. Operate equipment such as heat tunnel, sealer, checkweigher, and palletizer, ensuring quality and food safety practices.
  13. Assist with line clearance, cleaning, and sanitization procedures.
  14. Assist with training and certification programs as needed.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a GMP environment (food or pharmaceutical manufacturing) preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred.
