Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is recruiting a Packaging Operator for a busy manufacturing site in St Albans. This hands-on role focuses on keeping lines running smoothly, ensuring products are packaged accurately and safely to high standards.

You will operate and set up packaging equipment, carry out changeovers, complete clean-downs and perform quality checks. The role involves loading materials, maintaining housekeeping and supporting daily targets on rotating day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or packaging environment.
• Experience with automated or semi-automated machinery is beneficial.
• GMP or regulated manufacturing exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate production and packaging lines efficiently.
• Set up machinery, complete changeovers and clean-downs.
• Load packaging materials and keep lines running smoothly.
• Monitor the production process and identify issues.
• Carry out regular quality checks and document production/batch data.
• Identify minor faults and escalate faults as needed.
• Assist in minimising downtime and waste.

• Work with the team to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
• Follow Health & Safety, quality, GMP and operating procedures at all times.

Are you experienced in production, manufacturing or packaging and looking for a role where you can develop your skills within a busy, quality-focused environment?

We're recruiting Packaging Operators to join an established manufacturing operation in St Albans.

This is a hands-on position where you'll play an important part in keeping production running smoothly, ensuring products are packaged accurately, safely and to a consistently high standard.

What you’ll be doing

• Operating production and packaging lines efficiently.
• Setting up machinery, completing changeovers and carrying out clean-downs.
• Loading packaging materials and keeping production lines running smoothly.
• Monitoring the production process and identifying any issues.
• Carrying out regular quality checks.
• Completing production and batch documentation accurately.
• Identifying minor mechanical issues and escalating faults when required.
• Helping to minimise downtime and waste.
• Moving materials and pallets safely within the production area.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
• Working closely with your team to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
• Following Health & Safety, quality, GMP and operating procedures at all times.

What we’re looking for

Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or packaging environment is required. Experience operating automated or semi-automated machinery would be particularly useful, while previous exposure to GMP or another regulated manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

You’ll also need to be reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a team. Attention to detail is important, as is a positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes and develop your skills.

Working Hours

This role operates across rotating day and night shifts, so flexibility around shifts, weekends and occasional overtime will be required depending on production needs.
