Job summary

AB InBev in Preston is recruiting a Packaging Operator to support end-to-end packaging operations from raw materials to finished product. The role requires operating packaging equipment, ensuring quality and adherence to schedules in a busy manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has English & Mathematics basics and packaging/engineering experience. An FLT license is preferred; training will be provided where needed, with a focus on safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• English & Mathematics Standard Grades or equivalent.
• Packaging or Engineering qualification an advantage.
• Packaging and/or Engineering experience an advantage.
• FLT License where appropriate (Keg Palletiser).

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment to ensure finished goods meet quality, time and cost targets.
• Follow agreed ways of working and timescales with attention to detail.
• Comply with Safety, Health & Environment requirements and food hygiene regulations.
• Follow Product & Process Quality and housekeeping/5S standards.
• Undertake training for new skills within Packaging Department.
• Support KPI targets and participate in improvement activities.

This is a requirement for all operators, not just those that previously had the Asset Care grade* Operate Packaging Equipment in order to ensure the department delivers finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost to the logistics department* Undertake improvement activities to ensure the department meets all of its’ KPI (Key Performance Indicators) Targets, such as Short Interval Control (SIC)* Undertake training for new skills & tasks within Packaging Department in line with PDP’s.
