Job description

Join our dynamic team as a Packaging Operative and help us deliver excellence with every package.

Your Role

Due to continued growth within the Leonardo UK Helicopters contract, we have a full-time vacancy for a Packaging Manufacturing Operative based in Yeovil. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for processing deliveries and associated workloads.

Your Responsibilities
  • Ensure all work meets customer specifications, the production plan, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety procedures, particularly when using machinery and protective devices.
  • Interpret drawings and manufacture boxes to meet specifications.
  • Cut wood materials into various sizes/shapes using power or bandsaws; assemble wood parts with nail guns, power staplers, and glue to fabricate boxes.
  • Repair damaged wooden boxes and containers using hand or power tools.
  • Complete paperwork procedures accurately.
  • Maintain good communication between team members and other departments.
  • Perform additional tasks (with proper training) as assigned by the Team Leader/Process Manager.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn with a positive attitude towards the role and environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with hand tools or basic carpentry.
  • Good communication skills with team and management.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Good housekeeping practices.
