Job summary

DivalentineCalver Recruitment LTD represents a West London client seeking a Packaging Compliance Technologist. You will manage packaging compliance systems, ensure materials meet quality, environmental and regulatory standards, and drive improvement across the packaging supply chain.

Role supports BRCGS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EPR, UK and EU PPWR obligations with potential hybrid working after probation and a 6-month probation period. Salary £35-38k DOE.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in packaging compliance, QA or a technical packaging role.
• In-depth knowledge of UK/EU packaging legislation and environmental compliance.
• Excellent documentation and strong organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Effective communication with technical and commercial stakeholders.
• English business level proficiency.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage documentation and controls in line with BRCGS and ISO 9001 quality management.
• Conduct internal audits and prepare for external audits (BRCGS, ISO, FSC).
• Lead the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in relation to packaging.
• Monitor, interpret, and ensure full compliance with EPR, UK Packaging Waste Regulations, and PPWR; report data to UK and international regulators.
• Manage accounts with packaging waste compliance schemes.
• Track and interpret changes in packaging legislation and update internal processes.
• Manage and maintain Brand packaging compliance database and technical records.
• Liaise with third-party testing labs and interpret test results.
• Provide technical support to customers on packaging compliance.
• Ensure packaging specs meet food contact, label accuracy, and environmental impact classifications.
• Deliver training on compliance changes, including EPR and labelling.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, procurement, sales and operations.
