Job Opportunity: Packaging Buyer

A large retailing group is seeking a Packaging Buyer. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership, influence, and the ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of people. We are looking for a confident individual with a positive attitude, resilience, and determination.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing daily packaging requirements from multiple suppliers for new and existing products.
  2. Supporting sourcing initiatives and commodity strategies to identify suppliers, secure competitive pricing, and implement effective sourcing tactics.
  3. Supporting business growth by delivering on service, quality, and cost objectives.
  4. Evaluating, managing, and negotiating vendor costs, quality control, and distribution capabilities.
  5. Creating and implementing cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high service and quality standards.
  6. Managing the strategy and bid process for packaging items, including reviewing, analyzing, and coordinating bids.
  7. Collaborating with internal departments on product development and packaging selection.
  8. Monitoring supplier performance, managing supplier relationships, and addressing issues proactively.
  9. Preparing clear, accurate, and concise reports, specifications, and correspondence.
