BR10 Packaging Account Manager (Government/Defence)

Salary: Circa £55,000 + 25% Bonus
Overview
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Packaging Account Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
As a Packaging Account Manager, you are responsible for the sales and project development of bespoke packaging solutions to customers in the defence vertical, as well as winning business in local markets for packaging customers. Currently, this includes all opportunities presenting within the United Kingdom as well as the Republic of Ireland. You will identify and capture new opportunities in the market in close collaboration with the European Defence Leader, other Defence Account Managers, as well as Sub-Regional and Local Management.
It is your job to identify and analyse customer's requirements and desired solutions. You will need to fully understand the customers' needs and effectively work with different departments, including but not limited to Engineering, Sourcing, and Operations locally and international sister companies.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prospect and win new business from packaging customers in and around territory (Northampton)
- Responsible for the execution of the defence strategy in the UK market.
- Identify and capture new opportunities within the defence Initiative in the market.
- Prospecting and developing new sales of products & services towards customers in the defence sector.
- Support in building up of local resources to successfully manage defence projects - including successful awareness campaign within key players in the UK.
- Drive the business with existing and new defence customers, keeping in mind the company's current strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Frequent exchange with European Defence Leader to leverage from established contacts & emerging potentials.
- Conduct Sustainability Initiatives and cost take out exercises (CTOs) on strategic customer accounts within the defence sector where applicable.
- Supervising/managing key projects of selected accounts if applicable.
- Develop, implement, and follow a governance process for defence projects in the market.
- Successfully monitor tender / procurement channels relevant in the defence sector.
- Maintain regular, professional, and proactive communication with customer base as well as local and European team.
- Obtain customer documents necessary to properly facilitate RFQ's, order processing, booking, shipment, installation, acceptance, invoicing, and payment.
- Follow the sales process and use marketing material when assisting in drafting new proposals and customer meetings.
- Adhere to ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures.
- Adhere to company Code of Conduct.
- Relevant regulations for defence initiative as STANAG, Mil-STD, DEF STAN, etc.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree level or equivalent experience.
- Packing sales experience.
- Government / Military / Defence Experience.
- Sales & Project Management experience.
- Experience with government tender procedures.
- Demonstratable ability to sell solutions-based products.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex customer problems.
- Proven ability to objectively evaluate information, recommend course of action, and implement.
- Proven ability to lead the coordination of tasks from multiple people working in different departments in a timely fashion.
- Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in varied environments.
- Additional language skills are beneficial.
