Job summary

NSR Associates in Bristol is seeking a Structural Steel Package Manager to lead a technically demanding package on a major industrial construction project. You will manage the entire structural steel package from procurement through to completion, ensuring safe delivery, quality and programme.

You will coordinate with design, engineering and construction teams, oversee fabrication, logistics and installation, and ensure strict QA/QC, with extensive subcontractor management and compliance to site

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering structural steel packages on highly regulated projects.
• Strong QA/QC knowledge and documentation focus.
• Proven subcontractor management and coordination with main contractor.
• Experience with crane operations and temporary works interfaces.
• SMSTS and CSCS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Managing the structural steel subcontractor from award through completion.
• Coordinating fabrication, transport and erection activities.
• Monitoring programme and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
• Managing crane operations, lifting strategies and temporary works interfaces.
• Reviewing engineering drawings and resolving technical issues.
• Coordinating inspections, weld testing and QA documentation.
• Managing NCRs, RFIs and technical queries.
• Working closely with commercial teams regarding package performance.
• Leading package meetings and reporting progress to senior management.

We're looking for someone who can bring with them a strong understanding of quality assurance, safety and complex structural steel installations.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing the entire structural steel package from procurement through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Working closely with design, engineering and construction teams, you’ll coordinate all aspects of fabrication, logistics and installation while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Previous Package Manager experience.
• Structural steel erection and fabrication knowledge.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and inspection requirements.
• Excellent subcontractor management skills.
• Main Contractor experience
• SMSTS and CSCS.
