The role

As a Package Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, contributing to the maintenance of the UK’s continuous at-sea deterrent (CASD). You will play a pivotal role leading various highly complex packages of work within a highly regulated environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll report to a Zone Project Manager and be responsible for managing a discrete package of work, overseeing time, cost, scope, quality, and risk.

On the Mid Zone project, you will be responsible for a specific package of work supporting the overall delivery of a complex submarine project.

You will work within a project management team, collaborating with other project managers, and interfacing with Production, Project Controls, Commissioning, MOD, and key subcontractors.

• Leading a specific package within the zonal project.
• Ensuring packages are delivered to a deterministic baseline.
• Monitoring the budget for your work breakdown, ensuring material, labor, plant-hire, and subcontract costs are covered by contractual agreements.
• Capturing and resolving technical issues throughout the project.
• Supporting production centers to maximize productivity and achieve project objectives.

This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, based on-site at Devonport, Devon.

Essential experience for the Package Manager

• Limited project management experience with the ability to lead or assist in managing a complex project.
• Experience in delivering a package of work on time.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a matrix organization.
• Demonstrable safety leadership.

Desirable qualifications

• Level 4 qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction.
• APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
