Job summary

Biscuit International UK Limited in Gateshead Team Valley is seeking a Pack Team Lead to direct a 5–10 person packing team and ensure orders are produced on time and to specification.

You will drive shift efficiency, uphold GMP and health & safety standards, train operators, and stand in for the Shift Manager as needed. This role offers a hands-on production environment with opportunities to lead continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to quality, cost, delivery and waste KPIs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food manufacturing and food handling.

• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 5–10 employees, ensuring all training requirements are met.
• Oversee packing production, ensuring orders are delivered on time and meet customer specifications.
• Drive shift efficiency to maximise output and minimise waste while adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Stand in for the Shift Manager when needed.
• Liaise with the Product Lead to ensure product quality and schedule adherence.
• Train and verify competency on all relevant quality control checks and train Production Operators.
• Perform GMP audits, risk assessments, and ensure all stock rotation, line clearance, and traceability procedures are followed.
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects and support the Shift Manager in delivering SQDC targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 5-10 employees, ensuring all training requirements are met.
