Position: Pharma Scheduler – Capital Projects

Location: Gwynedd, PA, & North Carolina Project Site

ON SITE

Position Summary:

The Spear Group has an opportunity for an experienced pharma industry Scheduler to be part of an exciting life sciences project in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina (Raleigh/Greenville area). This on-site project controls professional supports the pharma owner’s project controls, planning, and scheduling team. The role involves supporting a multi-million-dollar manufacturing and laboratory/cleanroom project, interfacing with all phases of project execution, and acting as an owner’s representative overseeing scheduling efforts in collaboration with the Owner and EPCM firm, working with various pharma project SMEs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and report the Master Project Schedule using LEAN project management methodologies (e.g., Last Planner System, Pull Planning, Primavera).
  • Manage Schedule Progress Measurement/Percent Plan Complete (PPC) and variance analysis, ensuring updates are reflected in the schedule.
  • Facilitate interactive planning sessions to enable team participation, focusing on individual disciplines and their interrelations.
  • Prepare monthly Project Control reporting, establish cash flow tracking, and support procurement-related project control activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership and excellent communication skills to collaborate across organization levels and with partners, ensuring understanding of planning requirements and process improvements.
  • Possess knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including different product types, and experience with strategic planning and Lean project delivery practices.

Required Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years in scheduling and project control functions.
  • Experience with Life Sciences / Pharma / BioPharma Capital Projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera P6.
  • Knowledge of Target Value Delivery, Last Planner, Takt planning, Touchplan, NetPoint is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
  • PMP certification and Lean construction knowledge are advantageous.
