Job Description:

We are looking for a PA to join our existing bank of PAs to help our daughter access activities in the community and support her independence both at home and on trips out.

This job is on an ad hoc basis, mainly during weekends and school holidays. Currently, she does not access evening activities during term time due to fatigue, but this may change in the future.

Pay rate is in line with Direct Payments (£12.40/hr). We live in East Ardsley (WF3).

Our daughter is a bright, bubbly 14-year-old who loves music and dancing. She has Cerebral Palsy and uses a power wheelchair but strives for independence. She has well-controlled epilepsy and is an excellent communicator, working hard to improve her speech. A communication aid is available if needed.

Duties include:
  • All aspects of personal care
  • Supporting independence, including dressing
  • Preparing meals and supporting self-feeding
  • Participating in leisure activities such as outings with friends, group activities, shopping, and playing at home
Essential Criteria:
  • Reliability
  • Sense of humour (she loves to giggle)
  • Patience
  • Ability to support with transfers
  • Driving license and own car
Desirable Criteria:
  • Previous experience working with people with Cerebral Palsy

Full training will be provided. An enhanced DBS check is required, arranged by Leeds CIL. Payroll is managed by Leeds CIL.
